An Ingmar Bergman film about three sisters confronted with their lives and death. Their past haunts them as they must deal with a dying sister. The relationship between them strains under the stress. The only sane, well balanced individual is the maid, who has a questionable relationship with the ill sister. A difficult film to watch, I wonder what my mother will think.
