I caught a showing on TV on Christmas Eve. A far superior film to the 24 hours of “A Christmas Story” which followed it. I haven’t seen it in years, and I have the feeling that parts were edited for TV. Still I was impressed by how good it was. Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka is such a sinister character. The film has such an adult side to it. “Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker”
