I had stumbled across this years ago, crazy German film that Columbo is all of a sudden in. Its a two part story of Angles in Berlin. They listen and observe people’s thoughts and on occasion provide a nudge. The life of an Angel is one of constant observation. One becomes frustrated and joins the moral world. The first part (the majority of the film) is the Angels observations of the people of Berlin, filmed in a beautiful rich-toned black and white. The second part in color is when the Angel becomes mortal. And then there is Peter Falk in a great performance as himself. The film is a bit long and long-winded but good, the stylish observing Angels make up for the length.
