A very beautiful story of an assassination attempt on China’s first emperor is told three times. Kind of like a simple version of Rashomon, each time the story changes and is reenacted. There is an incredible emphasis on details. In scene in the desert you can hear the sand hitting the shields of soldiers, individual raindrops become important even interacting with the fighting characters. Each retelling of the story is assigned a different color, red, white, green and blue reflected through out. The stunningly beautiful world is almost too much, overpowering the story, but it is by far the more impressive.
