Bloody Sunday

Viewed: 24 April 2005
Directed by: Paul Greengrass
Listed in: Movies, Netflix

Bloody Sunday adopts a rigid documentary style; No music, no lights, handheld cameras, focus goes in an out as the camera runs around. The shots are pack with people, the framing difficult to maintain. It becomes as confusing and chaotic as the streets of Derry. The films sympathies clearly lie with the Catholics, but it does portray (some) of the British with humanity. The real impact is in the authenticity. In the future I imagine more people will remember Bloody Sunday as it is depicted here.
