The Man Who Loved Women

Viewed: 10 May 2005
Directed by: François Truffaut
Listed in: Movies, Netflix

A continuation of Truffaut’s sick fascination with cats licking up milk left out on trays. I enjoyed it wasn’t a straight building-crumbling relationship story, instead just one man’s obsession with women. Bertrand lives a solitary life, but when he is accompanied it is only by women. He sees no men after work. The main impetus of the story is a book that Bertrand is writing of his rendezvous, allowing him to ponder and reminisce. It started to wane near the end, until his obsession ultimately leads to his death.
