Up In The Air

I was drawn to Up In The Air for the study of Terminal nihility, leather-upholstered monotony of modern travel. Which it delivers on, though with less specificity then I hoped (which is entirely appropriate). George Clooney and Anna Kendrick are terrific in their roles. The writing is sharp and witty, with a few genuine surprises. The film really shines in its depiction of it's time and purpose. The beginning of the recession with thousands of layoffs, Clooney flying in to deliver the news with a kind heart.
