A deliberate pace and brilliant editing creates a film full of suspense. Apparently to create cool characters, you don’t have them show any emotion. Stone cold faces as they kill, steal and run. But within the cool façade there are hints of a gay undercurrent between the two criminals. Given the story, randomly meeting as one runs from the police, if one of them were a women there would definitely be a relationship. Parts of the film were dated and put of place, the dream sequence in particular. But when the robbery takes place it does so without a hitch. The plan, like the film itself, is cool and calculated.
