This film gives you lots of time to think. Little dialogue (none particularly important) and very long shots (some upwards of ten minutes) leaves a lot of space for distractions from the film. But the structure mimics the act of being lost, lost for days in the desert without any water. The pictures are amazingly beautiful, but at times it’s a great ordeal to watch. What’s the moral? Stay on the trail? Don’t underestimate nature? The film is nothing but its concept, which for better or worst is executed flawlessly.
