A stunning film, with flawless cinematography, beautiful choreography and immaculate editing. Disjointed, but phenomenal set pieces weave the loose tale of Ryunosuke. An incarnation of violence and evil in the form of a dispassionate samurai. Almost dead to the world, he lives for his exceptional swordsmanship. His only genuine reactions upon vanquishing foes and bystanders. The film's structure is difficult to engage in at times. The individual episodes however, loom as masterpieces.
