A subdued, cerebral film Dogtooth has little camera movement and less emotion. It's unsettling, shocking and occasionally gruesome. Isolated in their psychotic parents compound, their infantilized adult children live a fiction. It's so distorted and ludicrous, it loses the power to disturb. Instead I found it an esoteric satire of parenting.
