Chloe In The Afternoon

Viewed: 31 December 2004
Directed by: Eric Rohmer
Listed in: Movies, Netflix

A light drama thought the mind of a French man and his struggle over having an affair with an old friend. Frédéric has a wife, a good job and a daughter. Chloe arrives after a few years of being abroad. They initially meet in the afternoon which they both detest. Chloe wants a child, but not a partner. She want Frédéric to be the father. I like that Rohmer avoids pillow talk, but I feel there is a deeper level to the relationships he depicts. A layer which goes entirely over my head. It allows the film to remain light and interesting, but still meaning.
